School Direct – Secondary Course

Middlesbrough Schools’ Teaching Alliance – School Direct Training

The MSTA puts Middlesbrough schools at the heart of training and recruiting future generations of teachers to work in the area. As part of an Alliance students are supported throughout their training by experts who are already in the teaching profession.

The MSTA is made up of schools from across Middlesbrough including primary, secondary and special schools. It is led by Pallister Park Primary School, a National Teaching School.

The School Direct Training is run in partnership with York St John University who provide university based modules throughout the year. At the end of the course you will not only have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) but also a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) which is 60 credits towards gaining a Masters qualification.
